Missional Communities "Life with the Community" Projects

Each Missional Community has adopted an organization/cause from the community that they are based. This will be a no-strings attached relationship – where we provide the hands and feet to serve in whatever ways are asked of us. No doubt about it, we will walk through any doors that are opened for us to share about the hope we have found in Jesus, but our aim will be to enter into the brokenness and fragmentation of our community and look to help bring about restoration and growth in the cause/organization we are partnering with.

* Details about who each Missional Community has adopted can be found here.

Sierra Leone

Village Partnership

Village Partnerships allows local churches, schools or organizations to be that hand-up by connecting to whole communities that are suffering. This deeper engagement with a village offers new opportunities in agribusiness, education, food protection, sanitation, small enterprise and, most importantly, clean water. The approach is holistic. By partnering with village leaders and the local church, a village’s needs are assessed, and a tailored, three-year plan is drafted to help better the community.

Geoff & Carrie Jo Cain - Global Partners Missionaries

Geoff and Carrie Jo serve as missionaries in Sierra Leone. They desire to build relationships that will be spiritually encouraging to others, engage in discipleship, and be God’s tools in strengthening World Hope’s (the organization who helps facilitate our Village Partnership program) relationship with the community and surrounding areas. Carrie Jo works directly with the hospital staff at Kamakwie Wesleyan Hospital as matron, focusing on education and professional development of staff. Geoff mentors the facilities crew at the hospital, homeschools Becca, and oversees special projects.

Sue Leak

Victory Center (Morelia, Mexico)

Currently the ministry is focused on functioning as an after school program that is a safe secure place for kids to be so that they're not on the streets. The school offers homework help, tutoring, English, kids club and craft classes. These classes provide a springboard to share Christ with kids and their families. The outreach aspects of the Center are still being established.

Faith Church will be sending a team to Morelia in February 2017.

Lansing Youth for Christ

Dirk Case YFC / Lansing YFC

YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the Word of God, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.

Youth for Christ staff and volunteers are encouraged and trained to live a 3Story life: A way of life that guides followers of Christ to BE good news while telling stories of THE Good News. It is a way of seeing how the relationships we have with other people and God can be connected and grown. 3Story is not an evangelism tool or method, it is who we want to be and how we want to live. At YFC, 3Story is their living operating system.
