The attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound and nearby CIA outpost in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012, resulted in the tragic deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty. The indictment, unsealed following the arrest, charges al-Bakoush with seven counts, including murder, attempted murder, providing material support to terrorists, and arson. The detailed 13-page document outlines his alleged involvement in the attack, including surveillance activities and attempts to access vehicles within the compound.
This arrest is a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to bring all perpetrators to justice.
