Dallastown students march to protest ICE operations, walking to Yoe Park
WE SPOKE WITH FEDERAL OFFICIALS ABOUT THAT PERSON’S IDENTITY. A group of several dozen students from Dallastown Area High School organized a peaceful walk to voice opposition to ICE activities in the United States. The gathering occurred just before three o’clock after classes ended, as they formed with signs and set out to walk roughly a mile to Yoe Park. Their aim was to have their voices heard and spark discussion. “It’s scary and frustrating,” said one student. “As a 17-year-old, I feel I can’t do much besides this and donating. So I’m trying to do what I can to show support and raise awareness. I hope our signs inform people, especially those who aren’t aware of what’s happening. I hope people reconsider.”
Event update: Just before 3 p.m. on Friday, the students began their march and walked for about 40 minutes to reach Yoe Park.
