January 2026 Payment Dates for Benefits, Pensions, and Cost of Living Support

However, due to the New Year’s Day bank holiday, payments due on 1 January will be made on 31 December instead. Similarly, Christmas Day and Boxing Day payments will be brought forward to Christmas Eve.
Pension Payments:
State pension payments are based on the last two digits of your National Insurance number. For example, if your NI number ends in 00-19, you’ll be paid on Mondays. Bank holiday adjustments apply here too.
Upcoming Changes:
